I received my BA in Graphic Design from UCLA, and was fortunate to have as mentors, Don Chadwick (noted Herman Miller designer and creator of the Aeron Chair) graphic designer John Neuhart (associate of Charles and Ray Eames in Venice, CA), along with designer Ron Rezek (who invented the baywatch-style rescue can used by lifeguards).
I grew up primarily in Napa. I spent 3 1/2 years as a Coast Guard Officer, both on a ship for a bit (The USCGC Chase) and primarily as a public affairs officer for the West Coast Command in Alameda.
I was an early employee of Joe Boxer in SF and designed wacky boxer short prints! I worked on a bunch of cheesy films in the LA area (feel free to get a laugh by IMDBing me).
I was a trainer for Apple in New York for several years, owned my own greeting card business for years with my very talented artist sister. I spent much of 2000 in Paris, pretty much goofing off, traveling, learning french. In 2004 I move back to Northern California, my home.
I began teaching full time at SCC in 2007. In 2010, I earned an MA in Educational Technology at Sac State.
